Sanusi aledge NNPC missing $20bn, forensic audit is out



Due to the allegation by the former Governor of the Central Bank of Nigeria, Lamido Sanusi, that $20bn was not remitted to the Federation Account by the NNPC, President Goodluck Jonathan on Monday formally received the report of forensic auditors, an accounting firm, PriceWaterHouse, who was hired last year, 2014 to carry out the exercise.

The report was handed over on Monday by the Nigeria Country Senior Partner of PriceWaterHouse, Uyi Akpata, representing the firm, he stated that “It is a privilege for us to have carried out this exercise on behalf of the government and I hope that you will find this report useful.”

Due to it complexity, the president had asked the Auditor-General of the Federation to study the report and make the key highlights public within the week. It is only the auditor general of the federation that is in the position for caring out such sensitive highlight.
